About the Team

Competitive sailing was brought back to CSULB in 2010 after a 20 year (give or take) hiatus. The CSULB Sailing Team is entirely student-run and competes against colleges from around the nation (and even the world) as a member of the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference (PCCSC). The team varies semester to semester in size but is comprised of members who came to the team with varying levels of sailing experience. Some of members have been sailing their whole lives, and for others it is their first year. Many of the team members are US Sailing certified sailing coaches. The team has been able to mold beginner sailors (some of whom have never stepped foot in a boat before) to members of the varsity boats. The team through out the semester will teach members the basics of sailing and racing skills needed to perform on the racecourse. The team is a fun, supportive, but also competitive team.  We welcome all potential sailors. No experience is required of potential members for the sailing team. All members must be willing to work hard, play hard, and show Beach Pride. If you have ever thought about sailing and would like to represent CSULB, please contact us. The team has obtained a large amount of local support and hope to build upon that.
